There’s something about finding your people that is incredible.
I spent a lot of years in this online space believing that my words held value even when my book proposal was turned down by agent after agent after agent. They all offered similar feedback: your social media following is just too small. Read: my words weren’t enough to attract a big league publisher and well, we live in a world where numbers equate to value and where everyone wants a big piece of successful pie.
I don’t know why but I have always been just too dang stubborn to give into that that notion because I have another one: ripples.
I first became obsessed with the idea that one person matters beyond themselves- that each life has the capability to weave itself intrinsically through so many others when I had a front row seat to death and saw first hand how that person’s absence was felt so deeply in the souls of so many and why are we waiting for moments of grief to acknowledge that fact?
I guess all I’m saying is we shouldn’t.
Anyway.
Through some kind of divine motivation and then subsequent intervention I kept looking for a place that held the same belief of ripples and low and behold I crossed paths with Starfish Stories Publishing and it’s changed my life.
They believe in the power of women’s stories and the magnitude in which words have value even when the algorithm says otherwise and I’m so honored and excited and eager to be linking arms with them again on this ‘Soulful’ project.
There are preorders available in the form of an Indiegogo campaign and I just want to invite all y’all to support -not just this project- but this company. I just think that the world needs their passion and their mission and all the voices and stories that they publish.
